| Ive never heard anything refering to a difference between Mk 1 and Classic only the styling. Think, but not sure, they are the same performance wise.
As an example here an article refering to the T5, and no mention of Mk or Classic:-
""Side note: It's worth noting that the short-stroke Vespa T5 in standard trim, releases 11bhp, which is the same as the much larger 200cc long-stroke engine. The main reason for this identical power release from the much smaller 125cc engine, was the fact that the 200cc only uses a single small transfer port, at the top of the cylinder. The T5 (as the names suggests) uses a 5 port system, 1 at the top, and 2 each side, and revs higher with its shorter stroke.....thus equaling the power output of the 200cc engine. ""

This message is not my original message I wanted to send as I was told off by the BIG BOSS and I am sorry for what I said back to the question: The only time a T5 classic will have the same engine as a T5 MK1 is if you took the engine out of the T5 classic and put it in the T5 MK1 I hope this solves the puzzle of the T5 engine |

| | The T5 engine was scrapped purely due to it's emissions, it would never have passed the new stringent EU laws so it was finished up. Best 125 motor Piaggio ever produced! |
