Try here mate....
www.scooterhelp.com

I'm going to wire some of my front lights up this season.
Connecting them straight to the horn cable (via a switch of course).

You won't have enough wattage to do it. A better idea if you want chav lamps is a row of LEDs. Tap into the main wiring lead (blue) from the stator and then through a breaker switch (NOT an earthing type switch or all your lights will fail), wire them in parallel rather than in series and that should work.

Brijsax, I'd spend money on an 90w regulator if you're going to start wiring moddy lamps up or you'll end up blowing the standard regulator. Is yours battery or non battery? May have a better idea than tapping the horn wire epending on which it is.

Hmm, may just be able to do it then.

Tap into your main wiring loom (blue wire I think) from the regulator to the lights.
Mount your switch on this and then run it to the switching side of a relay and from the opposite pole. run to earth (I think.. you may need to run it back to the main loom instead, not done anyting like this for a long time)
Now tap into the live feed from the battery, run that up to the other (current carrying) contact on the relay and then on to the lights. From the lights obviously it needs to go to earth.

You could run the lights straight off the battery through a switch to the lights, but I'd be worried about melting the switch. This way you only end up with a couple of amps running through the switch while the relay should take a lot of amps quite happily. I'd start loking for a higher ampage battery too as I suspect more than one or two lights will kill it faster than you can charge it. The problem there is that it may mean that your electric boot works too powerfully. You could stick a resistor in but I'd go for the suck it and see approach.

Cheers for that Nick. Sound advice mate.

I'll probably only use two on all the time but I would like the majority of them wired.

Looks like I'll go for your first option.
